GE HealthCare Unveils Carestation 850 Next-Gen Anesthesia System

GE HealthCare has introduced Carestation 850, its next-gen, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) pending anesthesia system.

The system features a widescreen display and enhanced user interface to provide clear visualization of data. It also touts a vaporization platform designed with advanced alerting capabilities and can refill while in use, which can help anesthesia providers proactively manage cases and minimize disruptions.

Carestation 850 was designed to include tools and applications to assist health systems’ sustainability goals. The applications are customizable and the system features a sleek, space conscious footprint according to GE HealthCare.

The FDA 510(k) submission follows recent CE mark in Europe and Australian Therapeutic Goods approval in Australia and New Zealand.

Last month, the company announced updates to Intelligent Radiation Therapy (iRT), a new version of the company’s software for radiation workflow management. It was designed to cut the time for patients to go from diagnosis to treatment.
